Yiqing Yin, Couture S/S 14

Here I was lamenting the unseasonably warm weather (I want to cross-country ski, gosh darn it!), but Yiqing Yin’s fabulous S/S 14 couture collection (not to be confused with her fabulous RTW S/S 14 collection) entitled ‘MOTH’ has me impatiently awaiting thin flowy dress weather. Perhaps I’ll even consider leaving my McQueen jacket to air out with the moths, if this is the effect they’ll have on it.

That said, I’d like to point out that, as seen with the pieces pictured below, this collection is more like two mini-collections in one, or at least should be entitled ‘MOTH n’ METAL’ (…or something). And it’s odd that the liquid metal and bunched-up mesh pieces echo the two pieces in my closet that I’ve been trying to work back into my look, being that pair of silver Vivienne Westwood pants and the complexgeometries mega hose in grey. What I hadn’t yet considered was wearing them together. Genius.
